International Women’s day is celebrated on March 8 every year. It is the day to celebrate the achievements of women ranging from different fields. It’s the day to mark the success of women in different fields throughout history. Deccan Rummy wishes everyone a very happy international women’s day.

It was first observed as a socialist-political event in NYC demanding suffrage, equal pay, workplace discrimination etc. Gradually taking several shapes and turns, IWD in its present form began to be observed in the year 1975. Since then, every country makes it a point to celebrate valiant acts of ordinary women that have played an important role in the upliftment of the country.
On this day, there are various functions organized by the state and private parties that celebrate women achievers in various fields. Successful women in various fields deliver talks on topics like Women empowerment, gender discrimination, women education in events like seminars, conferences, luncheons, dinners or breakfasts.
